Wow, what a summer. And now, back to school. Our own Kurt von Stetten has completed his 10th solo album in 10 years! Damn. It’s called Bon Fortuna and is slated for an October release date. Meanwhile, The Longwalls will soon be releasing Live at the Bridge—a live concert video shot/recorded during their Gold Standard release show back in March. It’s black and white and looks and sounds great. The band is also working on some new material and will record a couple songs this fall. Look out for a digital single by the end of the year. And, 10 years after its release, Gatsby’sFloods + Fires has been touched up and remastered with 2 previously unreleased tracks added in. Look out for Floods + Fires [Turbo Edition] later this fall. All that and more… stay tuned!
What else… a video is in the works for the track “Home,” and the whole release show was recorded (audio and video), so look for some of that down the road. And.. more shows in the future as soon as we can book ‘em. Thank you!!!!
Join The Longwalls on Saturday, March 7 as they celebrate the release of their new full-length album, Gold Standard. The party will be held at Bridge Sound and Stage—the studio where the album was recorded—and will feature an opening performance by Longwalls bassist Dan London. What’s more? The entire night is being recorded—audio and video—and admissions is… FREE!! Mark your calendars and RSVP here. Space is limited! Hope to see you there!
After a series of contemplative EPs, The Longwalls return with Gold Standard—11 tracks of glorious, fuzzed-out, Americana-infused post-pop. Enjoy a quick taste here, look out for the album release (limited edition CD / digital) on 2/24, and stay tuned for details on a release show/party 3/7. More soon!
Our pal Von has included Dan London on the latest edition of his Americana Rock Soundoff!. It’s a great collection of music and we’re proud Dan made the cut. Give a listen and check out Dan’s latest—I Will Take You Back—before doing anything else. Ya herd? (And thanks Von!)
Kurt von Stetten is killing it! On the heels of composing the new theme for the Lost at Home Podcast, a fantastic interview by the fab folks at Visions of the Unexcused—entitled “The Last Renaissance Man: Ten Questions with Kurt von Stetten“—explores Kurt’s creative endeavors from music to visual art to BMX and beyond. And of course there’s a couple mentions of Mr. Bob Pollard… Oh, and check the latest in a string of Vans videos using Kurt’s music: one celebrating a Vans tattoo exhibition/competition and another promoting a Vans ‘Zine workshop. The videos feature “Codify” and “He’s No Writer” (respectively) from Kurt’s 2011 classic, Cyclops. Check it:

Check it out now and then tune in to tomorrow’s episode to hear its debut along with plenty of horror B film chatter and discussions of all things phallic. Oh my.
