A more balanced affair than the Five Songs EP (2003), Floods + Fires is a dynamic set that pits Gatsby's penchant for noisy, double-time, indie-rock assaults against slower-tempo pop, quiet melodies, and hints of twang. In the end, Floods + Fires is about conflict and the energy that conflict creates...and ultimately takes away. Gatsby's only full-length--and ultimately its swan song, Floods + Fires earned significant critical praise from local, regional, and national reviewers, and found regular radio play on more than 100 stations throughout New England and beyond.

Played through top to bottom, Floods + Fires is a great album. - Now on Tour

5th best New England CD of 2005 - Worcester Magazine

Gatsby have the great American indie-guitar rock album on their hands. - Big Takeover

...nothing could prepare you for Floods + Fires. Gatsby have been likened to Hüsker Dü, Heatmiser, Guided by Voices, The Feelies and Das Damen, and here, at last, you'll get the impression that they've earned the comparisons. - Splendid

Recorded, and mixed with Mike Quinn at Moontower Studio, Cambridge. Mastered by Ian Kennedy at New Alliance East.
