The only flaw with this friend is that it shows up to say hello, and barely gives you time to shake hands before you find yourself saying goodbye. With five songs clocking in at under twelve minutes, this little reunion doesn’t last anywhere near as long as you would like it to.
— Northeast Performer

“Moderator” is the real killer here — fast-paced drums and dirty guitar riffs pound the band’s pop home, while wrenching vocals add a sense of urgency, sneaking a touch of Cheap Trick flair into the mix as the band blasts through its precision pop.
— Splendid

The quick follow-up to the Amy Single. Holding up a Line and Donna were recorded for the Vinyl Ritchie Compilation disc, and Moderator (a song with Brandon on lead vox), was slotted in the middle to give the EP two distinct halves with re-mixed Pretend and Amy at the top. Released in May 2003 at a sold-out release show at the Lizard Lounge in Cambridge, these recordings find Gatsby doing what it did best: blasting out frenetic pop with lots of hooks, guitars and harmonies.
