On tap for the fall: new KvS, Longwalls and… Gatsby?

The Longwalls (c) Alex Budnitz

Wow, what a summer. And now, back to school. Our own Kurt von Stetten has completed his 10th solo album in 10 years! Damn. It’s called Bon Fortuna and is slated for an October release date. Meanwhile, The Longwalls will soon be releasing Live at the Bridge—a live concert video shot/recorded during their Gold Standard release show back in March. It’s black and white and looks and sounds great. The band is also working on some new material and will record a couple songs this fall. Look out for a digital single by the end of the year. And, 10 years after its release, Gatsby’s Floods + Fires has been touched up and remastered with 2 previously unreleased tracks added in. Look out for Floods + Fires [Turbo Edition] later this fall. All that and more… stay tuned!

A crazy few weeks for The Longwalls!

Well.. that was fun!!

Huge thanks to everyone who came out to The Bridge Sound & Stage for The LongwallsGold Standard release show! (Check out this preview from MusicBoxPete). It was an amazing time full of amazing faces from near and far… lots of love in the room (photos). Thank you!

Leading up the show, The Longwalls appeared on WEMF’s Outlaw Roadshow Radio with Ryan Spaulding to chat music, drink whiskey and play a few acoustic tunes.  Play the podcast here (scroll).

A few days after the show, The Longwalls paid a visit to WMBR’s Pipeline for a quick chat and full band performance. Listen here (via iTunes… it’s the March 10 episode). While setting up for said performance, The Longwalls were interviewed by the Huntington News. It’s a cool piece, check it out.

What else… a video is in the works for the track “Home,” and the whole release show was recorded (audio and video), so look for some of that down the road. And.. more shows in the future as soon as we can book ’em. Thank you!!!!

Early love for The Longwalls’ “Gold Standard”

Two of our favorite Boston blogs—Redline Roots and Visions of the Unexcused—have offered some kind words on the new Longwalls record, Gold Standard.

Redline Roots writes, “Gold Standard further presents the band as a strong force that produces some catchy songs with a bit of a punk attitude and grit.”

Visions of the Unexcused praised the record calling it, “a near perfect tome of Americana-infused fuzz pop.

Thank you kindly!

The entire night is being recorded—audio and video—and admissions is… FREE!! Mark your calendars and RSVP here. Space is limited! Hope to see you there!

Kurt von Stetten is (still) winning the internet

Kurt von Stetten is killing it! On the heels of composing the new theme for the Lost at Home Podcast, a fantastic interview by the fab folks at Visions of  the Unexcused—entitled “The Last Renaissance Man: Ten Questions with Kurt von Stetten“—explores Kurt’s creative endeavors from music to visual art to BMX and beyond. And of course there’s a couple mentions of Mr. Bob Pollard… Oh, and check the latest in a string of Vans videos using Kurt’s music: one celebrating a Vans tattoo exhibition/competition and another promoting a Vans ‘Zine workshop. The videos feature “Codify” and “He’s No Writer” (respectively) from Kurt’s 2011 classic, Cyclops. Check it:
